Word From School Founder and Principal

The idea of establishing the British Scientific School (previously called the Ideal School and Kindergarten saw the light into the world following 15 years as a counselor and later on as a supervisor at the Palestinian counseling center for Development and Research on childhood and early childhood programs in Nablus city, West Bank – Palestine. At that time, I worked with students aged 4 to 15 years old, who had learning deficiencies, however, the main obstacle was convincing their schools to cooperate with us, the schools and the whole Palestinian Educational system did not care enough, which made our mission almost impossible. I had to quit my job at the center in 2007, and established a simple Kindergarten.  Kids loved the place and their parents realized how much we cared for every single kid. We focused on the kids’ minds, and helped them learn how to think, how to analyze problems and how to solve them. Three years later, our work prospered and our school was established.

Palestine has one of the highest educational enrollment rates in the Arab world and developing countries. However, the Palestinian national education system is significantly weak. It follows old methods, lacks creativity, and is teacher-centered which means that the student’s role is limited to listening to what the teacher has to say. Our students deserve better; they need a modern education, a world class curriculum, and most of all, a certificate that is recognized by leading universities and employers worldwide, to help them start the journey of their lives.

Students have to be the center of the educational process, therefore our whole educational system is built to ensure the highest level of students interaction, and that was the main reason behind choosing to be a Cambridge International Education associated school, because it is the best educational system in the world when it comes to maximizing the students role in the whole process, the curricula is full of knowledge and information yet, it is fun, challenging, motivating, simple, and gives the required space for interaction between the students and their teachers.

To ensure the best educational outcomes, we teach the students how to learn, how to search for information, how to analyze and think; they spend more time in labs than in a classroom, working on a scientific experiment, painting or sculpting at the Art room, singing a song, or reading a book at the library; we believe that this is the essence of the whole learning and teaching process.

For years, we at the British Scientific School worked hard to implant our school’s values into our students; important values that present them to the outside world as modern, organized, highly educated and sophisticated students. One of the most important values is accepting each other. We teach our students to respect everyone, regardless of their religious beliefs, ethnicity or what language they speak. We see ourselves as a multi-national, multi-religion school, we have Muslim, Christian, and Jewish students, which gives the students the opportunity to meet boys and girls of different cultural aspects.

We hope to inspire students with the love of learning that leads to success in the classroom, in examinations, and throughout their entire life.
